macOS Installation Guide

SwiftFlo v1.0.0 · Universal (Intel + Apple Silicon)

Download this guide as PDF

Step 1 — Download & Open the DMG

Download SwiftFlo-1.0.0-universal.dmg from the downloads page. Double-click the file to mount it. A Finder window will appear showing the SwiftFlo app.

Step 2 — Move to Applications

Drag the SwiftFlo icon into your Applications folder.

Step 3 — Allow the App to Run

Since SwiftFlo is not notarized by Apple, macOS will block it the first time. You have two options:

Option A: Terminal Command (Recommended)

Open Terminal (search for "Terminal" in Spotlight, or find it in Applications > Utilities) and paste this command:

sudo xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine /Applications/SwiftFlo.app

Press Enter. Type your Mac password when prompted (nothing will appear as you type — this is normal), then press Enter again.

This command removes the "quarantine" flag that macOS adds to downloaded files. It does not modify the app.

Option B: System Settings (No Terminal)

  1. Try to open SwiftFlo from Applications. macOS will show a warning.
  2. Open System Settings > Privacy & Security.
  3. Scroll down to find a message about SwiftFlo being blocked.
  4. Click "Open Anyway" and confirm.

Step 4 — Launch SwiftFlo

Open SwiftFlo from your Applications folder. It will now launch without any security warnings. Connect your Facebook account and start automating.

Compatibility

This is a universal build that runs natively on all Mac processors:

  • Intel Macs (2012 and later)
  • Apple Silicon — M1, M2, M3, M4 (and all Pro/Max/Ultra variants)

Requires macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later.

Uninstalling

Drag SwiftFlo from your Applications folder to the Trash. To remove all settings, also delete:

~/Library/Application Support/swiftflo/
